The second installment of Red Orchestra by studio Tripwire Interactive is about to be released on STEAM (Sept. 13th/11).  The first one was amazing (I've often referred to it as the "Flashpoint / ARMA" of the WWII FPS genre) a more realism-focused shooter for those tired of running around with the twitch-kiddies in games like COD etc.

Follow the "external link" at the top to a thread on the Tripwire forums that explains pretty much everything there is to know about RO 2.

Can't wait for the second one.......it's going to be great.  If you like WWII FPS at all do yourself and a great DEV a favour and pick this one up!

The beta is great so far. Just a few animations to fix and there are stability issues. Fortunately, steam updates every time I turn it on.

Beta was great fun. One of the better FPS experiences I've had in a while. It may be a little buggy and unclean in places, but it's got so many mechanics and attention to detail that other FPS skip. The commander system is great to have back (missed it since BF2) and there is a lot of personal satisfaction you get from every kill.

I love this game and I am so BURN out on FPS's. The game dose have a few bugs here and there but over all I think they done a really good job on it. I am one of though's people who does not care for graphics just gameplay and/or story and the game play is really good. I did not think they could pull off an FP duck-n-cover system, Killzone has one but I though it sucks. Cant wait untill it comes out tomorrow!

P.S. Though's people on steam forums or most of them on the Red Orhestra 2 forums, they are total jerks they are saying they want a refund or bitching and complaining about the game. Gosh why are some people are asshole's there is a lot of work that goes into a game.

Yes, the commander system is perfect for friends to team up. I especially like the fact that a 20-man team can have an overall commander while each squad gets its own officer. Wonderful for coordination. Why do so many games lack this feature?

love it. BF3 may be pretty.... but this has game play that I do not think it will beat.

I hope commanders can kick noob snipers out of the class.
